I have 28 years experience of working with young adults with SEND in social care and post-16 education settings. A priority focus at work has been in creating learning environments where the young people can develop the skills and qualities they need in preparation for life and work.
I have been involved with Depden Care Farm for the last seven years. I joined the organisation because it was important to me that young adults with high levels of additional needs had positive progression routes available to them once they had finished college.
The farm provides a safe environment where people can continue to thrive and grow. I love seeing the farm helpers develop new skills, become more independent and grow in confidence. It is joy to experience the pride of the farm helpers when they share their work and achievements with me.
