We grow people
Depden Care Farm is a place where adults and young people (16 years old and older) with additional needs can grow and flourish.
Our stimulating outdoor environment offers a unique blend of activities – including animal care and horticulture, farm maintenance tasks like woodwork, fencing and ditching.

Progression
We value and celebrate everyone’s contribution however small and support our Farm Helpers to develop new skills and achievements. Once enrolled, farm helpers are encouraged to think about what they want to achieve at the farm and how that might fit into their wider life goals.
Our in-house learning programmes are based on real work on the farm and tailor-made for the individuals concerned and include the opportunity to work towards nationally recognised qualifications for those who want to. Where appropriate, our programmes may help support Farm Helpers to progress into other voluntary or paid employment opportunities or further education.
Farm helpers each keep a learning log and professional development folder to record their progress.
Our Fees
Our service is charged for. We have three bands, depending on the support needs of the customer. Our current charging policy can be found here.
Most fees are met via the benefits system, although those with available funds may pay through other means.
Our provision is part of Suffolk County Council’s Adult Community Services Framework Contract and payments are made via the Adults Finance Provider Portal.
We are also day service providers for the local authorities in Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.
We accept referrals direct for schools who will be invoiced directly for the agreed fee and we are currently tendering to become a Suffolk County Council Alternative Education Provider.
Funding may also be provided by relevant Integrated Care Board’s NHS CHT.
Safeguarding
Millennium Farm Trust has a zero tolerance approach to abuse. We are committed to promoting wellbeing, harm prevention and to responding effectively if concerns are raised. Our safeguarding policy is about stopping abuse where it is happening and preventing abuse where there is a risk that it may occur.
