We have joined the AQA Unit Awards Scheme
We are delighted to have recently gained AQA accreditation and have now added AQA Unit Awards, a nationally recognised award scheme specifically designed for people with additional needs, for whom traditional learning routes may not be suitable.
AQA Unit Awards allows all farm helpers to engage with learning and have their achievements formally recognised.
Farm helpers are rewarded with a certificate each time they successfully complete a unit of learning. They can build up a portfolio of certificates to evidence their skills, knowledge and experience.
The scheme boosts confidence, increases engagement and improves motivation, helping students to make progress on their lifelong learning journey.
Our first cohort of students have been assessed for the certificate in chicken keeping and there are a number in different types of animal care courses running closely behind. We are particularly pleased that a group of farm helpers have opted to undertake a risk management course, which will stand them in good stead if or when they move on elsewhere.
